Senior Sales Specialist – Contract Research – Home Office based – November 2017 - Urgent

Our client is a leading Contract Research company that delivers client-focused solutions for Pharmaceutical / Biotech / Scientific companies.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Sales Specialist to support their Biologics Division offering studies and analytical services to mid- tier and big Pharma within the Biotech Industry. The types of products to be tested are Monoclonal antibodies, recombinant protein, cell and gene therapies, vaccines and hormone blood derived products.

This role shall achieve quarterly and annual sales targets for an assigned product line and services in a designated region (Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland & Iceland).

Reporting to the European Manager Specialists Biologics, this role shall be home based.

The role is permanent full time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage existing client base and identify new clients. Limited cold calling.

  • Lead sales program in assigned territory applying technical/scientific skills to compete for customers.

  • Assist Global Account Management with presenting global capabilities, qualifying leads, demonstrating added value and closing new business opportunities by providing scientific support during sponsor teleconference calls, field visits and at scientific trade shows.

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to support customers and the Global Accounts team.

  • Establish regular interface and communication with the Global Accounts team to relay shared goals and targets; develop co-strategies to achieve defined targets; and work cohesively as a team to provide excellence in service to clients.

  • Fulfil subject matter expertise role, working with marketing to assure design, development and implementation of marketing tools and programs that support company goals.

  • As required, give overview of assigned product line and services to internal and external contacts. Share portfolio opportunities to appropriate account manager.

  • As required gather data on marketing trend, and competitive products and pricing.

  • Develop and qualify account leads through frequent customer contact and prospecting.

  • Gather data on potential customers in the designated geographic region.

  • Build relationships with customers to influence the acceptance and use of company products and services.

  • Communicate available products and services and inform customers of new products and services in a timely manner.

  • Handle initial inquires and qualify all prospective opportunities. Identify the drug development business model at these accounts and effectively communicate the value proposition of the company’s products and services.

  • Prepare and implement a comprehensive territory management plan to indicate target opportunities, potential new accounts, expansion of existing accounts and an analysis of competitor accounts.

  • Participate and assume support role in national and international tradeshows.

  • Participate in sales meetings as required.

  • Complete all required sales documentation in a timely manner.

     

The following are minimum requirements related to the Senior Sales Specialist Biologics position.

  • BSc. in a relevant science discipline.

  • Proven track record in Sales, especially in the Pharma, Biotech, and Medical Device Industry. Have experience of building and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Strong track record in meeting/exceeding clients’ expectations

  • Be able to travel at least 30% of their time.

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required.

  • Proficient in computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, e-mail).

  • Must be a self-starter and motivated.

  • Must be familiar with the sales process as follows:

  • Update sales tracker software

  • Administrative tasks i.e. quotations, sales enquiries, email correspondence with clients etc. is conducted in a timely manner.
